Vehicle Strikes Transformer In East Sonora

Sonora, Ca -- At 4:45pm, the CHP received a call about a vehicle driving off the road and striking a transformer near the Sonora Oaks Best Western Hotel off Hwy 108 in East Sonora.

“It appears that a Hispanic male driver, who was wearing a yellow shirt, took off on foot and fled the scene,” says Officer Tom Wills. “He went toward the Sonora Oaks Best Western and now our officers are out there looking for him.”

The fire department and PG&E are also on scene to make sure that everything is secure, and investigating whether there is any damage to the transformer.
