Sonora, Ca -- The Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors has approved a contract with Custom Home Builders out of Twain Harte to construct an Independent Living Shelter for young adults who have timed out of foster care.
The facility will allow up to six people to stay at a time, and will be monitored by a den guardian. The young adults will be taught skills such as how to find employment and balance a bank account. The County will use a state grant to fund construction of the $639,000 facility that will be located on N. Sunshine Rd. in the Mono Vista area.
