Sonora, CA -- The California Association for Local Economic Development is wrapping up a two day Economic Development Summit in Sonora this afternoon.
The purpose of the event is to plan a unified direction for economic development. Involved parties would include the county, Sonora, the Visitors Bureau and according to City Administrator Greg Applegate, a member of the business community. Jim Costello of Mt. Brow Winery and current Chair of the Chamber of Commerce commented that a steering committee must be formed immediately or any plans for economic development will die as soon as the consultants leave town.
