Copperopolis Residents Sustain Major Injuries Driving Off Embankment

Copperopolis, Ca -- 24-year-old Sergio Ybarra and an unidentified 17-year-old were air lifted to UC Davis because of injuries sustained during a vehicle accident Saturday night.

According to the California Highway Patrol, due to Ybarra's intoxication he drove his 2002 Dodge pick-up off a 25-foot-tall embankment on Sawmill Flat Rd. near Copper Cove Dr.

The two were first transported by ground ambulance to Mark Twain St. Josephs Hospital. Examinations revealed that both occupants received major injuries as a result of the collision. The two were then transported to UC Davis.
