Supervisors Vote In Favor Of Safari Pre-School And Daycare Center

Sonora, Ca -- The Safari Learning Pre-School and Daycare Center can now move full speed ahead.

By a 5-0 vote this morning, the Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors voted down an appeal by Nella Oil Company, parent company of the Shell service station on Mono Way across from the Junction Shopping Center, to keep Safari from receiving a conditional use permit.

Nella Oil Company indicated that it would like the option of applying for a liquor license that would allow the company to sell hard liquor, and that could be difficult considering the proximity of the daycare center, which is located just up the road.

The special meeting began at 9am in the Board Of Supervisors Chambers.
