Sonora Police Say Mountain Lion Was Spotted Near Morning Star Drive

Sonora, Ca -- This morning a mountain lion was spotted near Morning Star Drive in Sonora, so the Police Department would like residents to be aware of their surroundings.

“We've had a few mountain lion sightings over the past few months, but most have been up around the Apple Valley area,” says Sgt. Kevin Johnston with the Sonora Police Department. “Today one was spotted going across Morning Star Drive, and then across Dusk Lane. We'd like people to be aware when they are using the trail system or walking in that area.”

Residential areas and Sonora Elementary are in the vicinity, so parents in that area are advised to keep an eye on young children who are outside.
