Deer Creek Murder Victim Identified

Sonora, Ca-- The body of the murder victim shot in the Deer Creek area earlier this week has been positively identified as 29-year-old Jon Steven Flaherty of Wallace.

Lt. Dan Bressler with the Tuolumne County Sheriff's Department says that the next of kin has been notified. Flaherty's body was found during a search on Tuesday and a forensic autopsy was conducted Wednesday.

Sunday afternoon 39-year-old David Roy Stanton was arrested and charged with murder in connection with the incident. On Monday, his sister Shawna Stanton was arrested for allegedly being an accessory to the crime.
