Parks Commission Holds Inaugural Meeting

San Andreas, CA – History was made in Calaveras County Thursday as the newly formed Parks and Recreation Commission held its inaugural meeting.

The commission was formed in May by the Board of Supervisors at the recommendation of the Parks and Recreation Task Force.

The commission's first formal action was selecting District 4 Commissioner Mason Goodale as Chair and District 2 Commissioner Pat McGreevy as Vice Chair.

Some of the commission's first goals are to formalize a Parks and Recreation Master Plan, set up programs for park funding and hire a manager to administer park grants, programs and services.
