Fresno Couple Injured In Hwy 49 Motorcycle AccidentThursday, July 26, 2007 - 05:55 PM

Mokelumne Hill, Ca -- Two were airlifted to a Sacramento Hospital following a motorcycle accident on Hwy 49 near Mokelumne Hill this afternoon.
“A couple from Fresno were northbound on Hwy 49, on their way to Lake Tahoe,” says CHP Officer Jim Clary. “They were negotiating the Mokelumne River Canyon, and when they attempted to negotiate a curve, they inadvertently ran off the right shoulder of the roadway.” The motorcycle continued for approximately 36 feet before striking a rock and ejecting the couple.
55 year old Craig Hickerson reportedly suffered a broken femur, while his wife, 46 year old Michelle Hickerson, reported lower back pain. The two were flown to San Juan Mercy Hospital. The accident was reported shortly before the one o'clock hour.
