Debated Subdivision Receives Final ApprovalTuesday, June 26, 2007 - 03:55 PM

San Andreas, CA -- A dispute over roads in the Olive Orchard Subdivision in Burson has not stopped it from receiving final approval from the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors.
When first being considered last week, resident Ron Parks brought it to the board's attention that some of the subdivision's parcels were deceivingly being represented as five acres. When in reality, they are actually 3.5-acre lots with the remainder being a road easement. Buyers beware, he said. The board delayed its decision for staff to look into the issue.
Staff came back this week saying that while subdivision roads are not usually drawn that way, it is in fact legal.
The board thanked Parks for bringing the inequity to their attention and says it will review this issue with the planned update of the subdivision code.
