Arrest Made Following Attempted Homicide In Sonora

Sonora, Ca -- The Sonora Police Department has made an arrest in connection with last week's shooting of 25 year old Benito Mora of Valley Springs.

28 year old McNamara Mechedei Temol was taken into custody yesterday following a search of his Twain Harte residence. A suspect allegedly drove to the residence of Mora's girlfriend in the 300 block of Hospital Rd. in Sonora last Wednesday, and shot the victim through the window.

It is believed that the shooter knows the victim, and that it was not a random act. Temol was taken into custody without incident. He was transported to Tuolumne County Jail and booked for attempted homicide and conspiracy to commit murder.

The investigation is ongoing. Police Chief Mace McIntosh says a second suspect is also under investigation for involvement. That individual has not yet been arrested.
