Angels Camp, CA -- Two women were driving in opposite directions on Highway 4 near Stallion Way when one lost control and crossed the double yellow lines.
The CHP says 54-year old Linda Edlund of West Point was driving at a high rate of speed when she lost control of her Mazda and crossed into the opposing lane of traffic. Edlund traveled directly into the path of a Chrysler driven by 59-year old Valerie Williams of Copperopolis. The vehicles hit head on.
Both women were taken to Mark Twain St. Joseph's Hospital for treatment of moderate injuries. Williams had a possible fractured fibula.
