San Andreas, CA -- The Calaveras County Water District has lifted a moratorium on sewer connections in Copperopolis.
Due to heavy rains last year, water levels were too high at the Copper Cove treated wastewater storage pond. So, the district imposed a constraint on approving any additional facilities agreements, which essentially meant no new construction. General Manager David Andres says the district was able to get a permit to pump water onto the Saddle Creek Golf Course allowing the pond to lower.
The Copper Cove system serves a few thousand customers.
