San Andreas, CA -- After an impromptu survey by the Joint Commission, Mark Twain St. Joseph's Hospital has been awarded a Gold Seal of Approval.
The commission is an independent, non-profit organization and is the largest standards-setting and accrediting body in health care. The hospital sought accreditation from the commission to demonstrate its commitment to patients. As part of the process the commission conducted an unannounced site evaluation in March.
A commission representative says the community should be proud that Mark Twain is focusing on continuously raising quality and safety.
