Douglas Flat, CA -- The Calaveras County Garden Club is putting on an Arbor Day celebration this Saturday, April 28.
The event will take place at the Pioneer Schoolhouse in Douglas Flat from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event is free and includes environmental activities, compost demonstrations, water conservation ideas and special activities for kids.
Also on May 5, the group will hold a garden tour at the schoolhouse from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Funds raised will go toward the Flowering Gold project, which aims to plant poppies all along highways 49 and 4.
