Sonora, CA -- Wednesday marked a day of recognition within the Tuolumne County Sheriff's Department.
According to Sheriff Jim Mele this marked the first recognition ceremony in his 19 years in the department. Six new hires were honored: Jenell Meyers; Records Clerk, Jennifer Bazner; Dispatcher, Lisa Snoe; Dispatcher, Pamela Zils; Jail Booking Clerk, Paul Speers; Deputy Sheriff-Patrol and Scott McAndrews; Deputy Sheriff-Patrol.
Four new promotions were recognized: Phillip Halencak; from Deputy Sheriff-Patrol to Corporal-Patrol, Jennifer Dillon; from Jail Booking Clerk to Crime Scene Technician for investigations and Sergio Demelo; from Bailiff Deputy to Bailiff Corporal of court security.
In addition Mele presented 13 service awards with Sue Fraguero topping the list with 30 years of service to the county. Two recent Jail Academy graduates were honored along with Patrol Sgt. Chris Harrison who received a commendation for his outstanding work on a recent stalking investigation.
