Avery, Ca -- Tuesday afternoon a rider and passenger of a 2001 Honda motorcycle fled the scene after reportedly running over debris and crashing the vehicle along Hwy 4 east of Avery.
The incident was reported to CHP at 3:32pm. “The resident post unit arrived on the scene at 4:13pm and found a motorcycle which appeared to be hotwired,” says CHP Officer Mike Maddox.
Shortly after, another San Andreas CHP unit arrived. Maddox says they did a search and eventually found the two suspects. It was discovered that the motorcycle had been stolen from Amador County earlier in the morning.
The names of the two suspects involved have not yet been released.
