Teenager Hit By Car In San Andreas

Tuesday, January 30, 2007 - 12:00 PM

San Andreas, CA -- 16-year old Andrew Sprinkle is recovering from injuries he received after being hit by a car Tuesday morning.

The San Andreas resident was attempting to cross traffic on Highway 49.

Authorities say Sprinkle bolted across traffic and failed to observe an approaching vehicle.

He ran directly in front of a 1992 Saturn driven by 17-year old Arianna Armenta of Burson. Sprinkle flipped in to the air and landed on his face suffering a probable broken nose and multiple abrasions.

The CHP says Armenta is not at fault for the accident but was cited for driving with an underage passenger while having a provisional drivers license.

Sprinkle was taken to Mark Twain St. Joseph's Hospital for treatment of his minor injuries.
