Sonora, CA-- Organizers for the "A Dream for Cody" benefit event are hoping the turnout only gets better as the night continues.
Co- Founder of the event Casie Jachetta says they were hoping to have a “little bit more people,” but overall everyone attending seemed to be having a good time. Organizers say the proceeds from this evening's event will benefit the family of Cody Machado, a three year old Tuolumne boy affected by Coffin- Lowry syndrome.
The benefit began at noon and will end at 11pm at the Mother Lode Fairgrounds. Jachetta says live entertainment, a silent auction, and raffles are taking place throughout the night.
Tickets are $25 at the door. Jachetta says it's too hard to say how much money the benefit has raised at this time. She adds that those not able to attend tonight's event can still donate at any Umpqua Bank.
