Crash Victim Still At Large

Friday, December 29, 2006 - 10:40 AM

Sonora, CA -- C.H.P. Spokesman Tom Wills reports the individual who exited his white Nissan Altima after colliding with the rock embankment just west of the Hwy 108-Stockton Rd. intersection this morning is still missing.

C.H.P. and Tuolumne County Sheriff's Department personnel have concluded their search of the Woods Creek-Mill Villa area.

There is a report the unnamed individual was headed toward the sewer plant. The Sonora Police Department has now joined the search.

The C.H.P. did receive a cell phone call stating that the individual, upon exiting his vehicle, was stabbing himself in the neck. Wills adds that a large amount of blood was found in the vehicle which was towed from the scene. The blood trail was lost in the Woods Creek area.
