Sacramento, CA -- El Niņo type conditions are expected for the state during the upcoming winter.
The state Office of Emergency Services says the National Weather Service forecasted above average rainfall throughout California due to moderate El Niņo conditions. These storms are likely to hit the state starting in January running through March.
OES Director Henry Renteria says he doesn't expect devastating storms as in recent years, but residents should still protect themselves.
A list of preparedness tips can be found at www.oes.ca.gov.
