Pine Grove Woman Injured In Highway 12 Accident

Valley Springs, CA -- Three members of the Deaver family from Pine Grove were involved in an accident when their car slipped on wet pavement Sunday.

The CHP says 58-year old Kent Deaver was driving on Highway 12 when he slowed to begin a right hand turn onto Upper Evans Road and the vehicle started to slide. Deaver applied the brakes but could not stop the vehicle.

The car went off the roadway, into a ditch and collided with the dirt embankment.

Passenger, 77-year old Billie Deaver, sustained a broken left ankle and complained of back and neck pain. She was taken to San Joaquin Hospital.

The back seat passenger 54-year old Kathrin Deaver had a busted lip and complained of pain to her shoulder. She was treated on scene.
