Santa Set To Arrive In Sonora

Sonora, CA -- He may be last but he's still the favorite of all.

Santa Claus will be the 76th and final entry in this year's Sonora Christmas Parade. With the exclusion of Santa, the 75 entries is ten more than a year ago. Special Projects Coordinator Sheala Wilkinson attributes the increase to so many fire engines that will be in the parade this year. Leading the parade will be the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Sonora Police will start diverting traffic at 5pm with the parade starting promptly at 5:30. Starting at the Red Church, the parade will end at Restano Way and will last approximately one hour.

Parade watchers are invited to Courthourse Park where bands will perform following the parade.
