Sonora, CA -- Some of Tuolumne County's best will be recognized at next month's Chamber of Commerce Installation and Honors Banquet.
According to Tuolumne County Chamber of Commerce President and CEO George Segarini, the awards program has been going on since 1908. Ray Emerald will be the recipient of the Citizen of the Year Award. He was one of the driving forces in the construction of a new softball field at Summerville High School. Pam Jones of PJ and Associates is the Entrepreneur of the Year. The Excellence in Government Award will be presented to Sonora City Administrator Greg Applegate. The Teacher of the Year is Summerville High School's Wayne DeGennaro.
The Banquet is scheduled for November 16th. It will be held at the Elk's Lodge.
