Wright Creek Burn Continues To Burn

Monday, October 23, 2006 - 01:00 PM

Sonora -- Stanislaus National Forest officials report that the Wright Creek burn has been extremely successful to date.

Officials are planning on burning underbrush and excess fuels that will eventually cover 300 acres over a multi-day period.

The Wright Creek Fire is located four miles south of Long Barn near Faust Cabin and Marble Mountain.

Large amounts of smoke from the fire have been seen in the Mother Lode over the past couple of days.

No date has been set for the extinguishment of the prescribed burn.
