C.D.F. Crews Gaining Ground In Southern California

Sacramento, CA -- Firefighters are making considerable gains in their battle against that nearly monthlong wildfire northwest of Los Angeles in Ventura County.

C.D.F. officials say the Day Fire is now 63 percent contained with full containment expected by Monday night. Wednesday evening, the fire was only 41 percent contained. The blaze has burned more than 160,000 acres since it began on Labor Day.

In Trinity County, the Pigeon Fire has now burned 92,000 acres ... it is only 36 percent contained.
