Sonora, CA -- After 40 years as a teacher and an administrator, Sonora High School Principal Terry Clark will call it a career June 30, 2007.
Clark says his retirement is based on a number of reasons. He feels 40 years is probably enough because the energy level isn't quite what it used to be. In addition, he and his wife have a grandchild on the way and he would like to serve as a volunteer with a national or international church organization perhaps in disaster relief. Clark received his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Redlands in southern California while completing his graduate work at U.C.-Berkeley.
Clark was a band and orchestra director in the Richmond, CA School District from 1967 to 1982 spending the majority of his time at El Cerrito High School. In 1982 he was named the supervisor for the music programs for the district's 72 schools.
The 2006-2007 school year will mark Clark's sixth at Sonora High School.
