Sonora, CA -- 30 grams of Cocaine, 2,000 marijuana plants and three firearms are now out of the possession of a suspected drug trafficker thanks to the work of the Tuolumne Narcotics Team.
Reports indicate in June several law enforcement agencies began an investigation regarding Patricio Guzman, who is believed to be connected to a major drug trafficking organization working out of the Central Valley area. Based on surveillance of Guzman's vehicles and the marijuana garden in question, investigators and agents began to connect Guzman to a large-scale garden being cultivated in Tuolumne County in the Merrill Springs area.
On August 8th, officials raided the marijuana garden in the Merrill Springs area. At the same time, other teams served a search warrant at the Guzman residence in Patterson.
The investigation is ongoing, and to date, it has resulted in the confiscation of 30 grams of Cocaine, 2076 marijuana plants, a pistol grip shotgun, one rifle, and a handgun. Felony complaints are being requested on Guzman; however, he is currently not in custody.
