Columbia, CA -- Dr. Jim Riggs may be stepping down as president at Columbia College, but he will maintain his relationship with the two-year institution.
With a 24 year career in college administration, Dr. Riggs will assume a full-time faculty position effective the fall semester, 2007.
A Washington state native, Riggs earned a bachelor's and master's degree in music from Eastern Washington State University in Cheney just west of Spokane. His doctorate in higher education is from the University of Southern California.
During his tenure at Columbia College, the school's enrollment has increased by more than 30% and voters in the Yosemite Community College District passed Measure E to make provisions to accomodate that growth.
