AAA Offers Free Tow For Drinking Drivers

Sonora, CA -- Flat tires and dead batteries are typical problems that a call to AAA can solve.

This 4th of July, there's another reason to ask for help: if you've had too much to drink and need a safe way to get home.

The program called “Tipsy Tow,” is a service to the community from AAA. The concept is simple: If you have too much to drink, call AAA and they will tow you and your car home for free.

The program is open to everyone and you do not have to be a AAA member to qualify for the service; which provides a one-way ride within seven miles for the driver and vehicle to the driver's home.

Drivers can call 1-800-222-4357 (800-AAA-Help) for a free tow, just tell the operator you need a “Tipsy Tow,” and a truck will be on its way.
