Campers And Boaters Expected To Flood The Mother Lode

New Melones Lake,CA--With the Forth of July weekend approaching in just a few days, many lake and campground officials are preparing to ensure everyone has a fun and safe weekend.

Chief Park Ranger for New Melones Lake, Jeff Laird says common problems that occur on busy weekends are conflicts between campers over noise and dealing with unrestrained pets.

Laird also says problems can occur when boaters drive carelessly or under the influence.

His advice to visitors this weekend is to plan for the hot weather by bringing plenty of water. He also advises water goers to be considerate to others in the area. Several thousand people are expected to visit Melones Lake alone.For more information go to www.recreaction.gov
