Victims Wife Released As Murder Suspect

San Andreas, CA -- Tammy Ham of San Andreas, who was arrested Sunday after the shooting death of her husband John Ham, has been released from Calaveras County Jail.

John Ham was found dead Sunday at the couple's home in San Andreas of multiple gunshot wounds to the torso.

His wife Tammy was subsequently arrested and booked on murder charges.

According to the District Attorney's Office, those charges have now been dropped.

A press release says the office is delaying a charging decision pending further investigation.

The Sheriff's Department has finished its search of the crime scene. A motive for the killing is still under investigation.

The DA's Office says further investigations into the backgrounds of the people involved will be relevant and helpful to the case.
