Mountain Ranch Assault Suspect At Large

Mountain Ranch, CA -- Calaveras County deputies are on the look out for a suspect involved in an assault Friday morning.

Officers were called to a report of a disturbance at a home on Mountain Ranch Road at about 9 a.m.

Francis Stewart of Mountain Ranch and Michael Stewart of Monterey reported they were struck with a golf club and almost ran over by the suspect in a stolen vehicle.

The suspect then stole one of the victims' vehicles to leave the area.

The reporting party followed the suspect into San Andreas but deputies were unable to locate anyone.

The suspect is wanted for assault with a deadly weapon.
