Man Sought For Battery Apprehended By Sheriff's Department

Soulsbyville, CA -- A Soulsbyville man is facing battery and DUI charges after a fight with his girlfriend Thursday night.

The Tuolumne County Sheriff's Department says deputies responded to Oman Drive to a report of domestic abuse.

During the investigation deputies found a woman who says she was punched and choked by her boyfriend, who fled the scene before deputies arrived.

Reports indicate a description of the man was broadcast and Corporal Kelly Dickson stopped the vehicle near Tuolumne.

The man was arrested for felony domestic battery and driving under the influence of alcohol.
