Governor Arnold Scharzenegger Tells Members To Stop FightingSaturday, February 25, 2006 - 11:30 AM
Sacramento, CA-- Governor Schwarzenegger arrived to a standing ovation and chants of "Arnold, Arnold, Arnold," before delivering his address at the state Republican Party convention last night in San Jose.
Speaking to a packed hall at San Jose's Fairmont Hotel, Schwarzenegger said he will continue to push for government reforms, but he called on skeptical members of his own party to stop fighting and start leading. Republicans, he said, have a "history of boldness" that they must seek to regain in California. He said "We will continue to fight for recovery and for reform for pension reform, education reform, redistricting reform and for budget reform. Republicans must begin to change our outlook. We cannot just fight; we must build. We cannot just follow; we must lead."
