Bill and Jeri Johnson

Sonora, CA -- Clarke Broadcasting is happy to announce the arrival of Bill Johnson. He will join the staff of Clarke Broadcasting as news director for KVML, KKBN, KZSQ, and MyMotherLode.com Monday.

With 30 years of broadcasting experience in news and sports, Johnson is excited about the move from the rain of Portland, Oregon to the sunshine of the Mother Lode.

"Given Clarke Broadcasting's continuing mission of serving Tuolumne and Calaveras counties, I look forward to building long term relationships within the community while reporting in a professional and responsible manner," said Johnson.

Both Johnson and his wife, Jeri, are California natives hailing from the Bay Area.

The Fresno State University graduate has served as a news anchor-reporter in Portland, Vancouver, Washington, Santa Rosa, California and called football and basketball "play by play" for the University of Oregon, the University of Portland, Lewis and Clark College, Linfield College, and Sonoma State University.

“We are excited to have Bill joining our company and our community. He brings a wealth of experience in reporting and anchoring and will place a high premium on building long-lasting relationships within our region. He and his wife Jeri are no strangers to California and know our area well, making the transition easier," said General Manager Larry England.
