Tuolumne County Inmate Death Under Investigation

Sonora, CA -- The Tuolumne County Sheriffs Department is investigating the death of a female inmate.

Sergeant Matt Zelinsky says 51-year-old Sabrina Wolverton was found unresponsive in her cell before 8:00pm Tuesday night.

CPR was performed and Wolverton was taken to Tuolumne General Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Zelinsky says there does not appear to be anything suspicious and foul play is not suspected.

The woman was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance and assaulting deputies. The case is still under investigation.
