Sacramento, CA -- Taste tests on raisins may help farmers focus their marketing efforts.
A University of California team asked 120 consumers to taste different types of raisins, and rate them on a scale of 1 to 9. The researchers say they found certain patterns in consumer preferences, involving some varieties of grapes and techniques used to dry the grapes into raisins.
The study indicated that farmers might be able to market their raisins to consumers who prefer certain types.
