Search Continues For Missing Valley Springs Fisherman

Sonora, CA -- The Tuolumne County Sheriff's Department is still searching for a Valley Springs man missing on New Melones Reservoir since last weekend.

Lieutenant George Ruckman of the sheriff's department says the search is still on for 59-year-old Doug Ramsey who was reported missing after he failed to return from a fishing trip last Saturday.

His boat was found beached on the lake's south shore early Sunday morning. His truck and boat trailer were also located at the Tuttletown Boat launch.

Ruckman says an extensive search and rescue operation has been underway on both the water and land for the past several days. He says the search has also involved an aerial search from a helicopter.

Ruckman says the impending weather has authorities concerned, however search efforts will resume after the storms have passed.
