Sacramento, CA -- Mother Lode residents are being warned that the weather will be making a severe turn for the worse this afternoon as two Pacific storms roll through the region.
The first system is expected to hit the area this afternoon bringing moderate to heavy rains to the valley and foothills where three to six inches are possible. The National Weather Service says the first storm will bring gusty winds and snow to the higher elevations through tomorrow when the second system is expected to move in.
A flood watch remains in effect from 4:00 this afternoon through tomorrow afternoon for an area including Tuolumne, Calaveras and Stanislaus Counties.
A wind advisory will take effect at 10:00 this morning through 10:00 tomorrow morning.
Authorities are warning drivers of high profile vehicles that the wind gusts could make driving difficult or dangerous.
Travelers are urged to obtain the latest weather information before setting out.
