Sacramento, CA -- Forecasters are warning that this morning's severe weather is only the beginning of a week-long period of unsettled conditions.
The National Weather Service says the system that moved across the area over night is the first of three to move through this week. The storms are expected to bring heavy snow to the upper elevations and rain that could present a danger to flood prone areas. As much as 18 inches of snow could fall above the 7000 foot level.
The next system is expected to hit the state tomorrow night, bringing with it occasionally heavy downpours Wednesday.
