Only One Week Left Of Fire Season

Sonora, CA -- As of 8:00am Monday November 7th, the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection will close the 2005 fire season.

The remaining Central Sierra Units will officially close fire season on Monday November 14th.

The air tankers and air tactical aircraft in the central sierra will go off contract as of Monday October 31st. Fire officials say statistical response data for the 2005 fire season will be available on December 1st.
