CDF Contains Eight Fires Today

Sonora, CA -- CDF Officials in Tuolumne and Calaveras Counties are on the lookout for smoke today because of all of the lightning clouds in the sky.

Karry Hubbard with CDF says they did 15 smoke checks today, which resulted in the containment of 8 small fires.

One of the fires was in Tuolumne County and the rest started in Calaveras County due to trees being struck by lightning. Hubbard says CDF will be surveying the area throughout the day and night looking for more fires.
