Manteca Man Pleads Innocent To Murder

Stockton, CA -- A Manteca man accused of kidnapping and murdering a Ripon woman has pleaded innocent to charges in San Joaquin County Superior Court.

Forty-three-year-old Roy Gerald Smith is accused in the June killing of 46-year-old Mary Morino-Starkey.

Relatives last saw the woman on June 15th when they say she followed Smith in her car as he went to a bank to get money to buy a boat she was selling.

Her body has never been found.

Smith is due back in court November 29th.
