San Andreas, CA -- Calaveras County Sheriff's Deputies are trying to determine who apparently robbed a man in Arnold early Friday morning.

A report indicates that the deputies arrived at the scene to find the man bleeding from a facial laceration above his left eye. The man was also reportedly suffering from a gash on the back of his head.

He told investigators that he was walking down the street when an unidentified assailant hit him in the back of the head with his fist and took his wallet.

No details have been reported on the condition of the victim who is said to be a dependent adult.

The investigation continues.
