Sonora, CA -- Investigators with the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection would like to talk to a possible witness who was at the scene of yesterday's fire at Highway 108 and Lime Kiln Road.
Chief Richard Imlach says investigators are relatively sure the five acre blaze was sparked by an eastbound vehicle on Highway 108. He says officials are looking for a gray haired man who was driving a white or cream-colored, older model flat-bed truck with a blue tarped load.
Imlach says he believes the man saw the fire in it's initial stages and may be able to offer information.
Investigators believe the man drove away from the scene going eastbound on Highway 108 as the fire was starting to spread.
Anyone with information is asked to call Chief Imlach at 532-0821.
