E-Voting Machines Rejected After State TestsSaturday, July 30, 2005 - 11:10 AM
Sacramento, CA -- California election officials have rejected an electronic voting machine made by Diebold after tests revealed unacceptable levels of screen freezes and paper jams.
Three counties have already purchased the T-S-X voting machine, which was found to have a failure rate of ten percent. Secretary of State Bruce McPherson says that risk was too high and he notified company officials about his decision in a letter sent Wednesday.
