Sonora, CA -- The Tuolumne County Transportation Council is seeking the cooperation of Caltrans to fund safety improvements at two area intersections.
The council has sent letters to the state to open discussions on short and long term changes to the intersections at State Highway 49 and Parrotts Ferry Road near Columbia and the junction of Highway 120 and O'Byrnes Ferry Road. Deputy Director Darin Grossi says officials will look at ways to deal with growth related traffic increases in those areas.
He says that in order to support long term growth, officials need to look at identifying and funding those improvements over the next ten years.
The council will meet tomorrow at 5:00 in the Board of Supervisor's chambers on South Green Street in Sonora.
