Governor To Name New Head Of California National GuardMonday, July 25, 2005 - 02:40 PM
Sacramento, CA -- Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger will name a 35-year military veteran currently leading international operations in Kosovo to head the troubled California National Guard.
Sources say that the appointment of Brigadier General William H. Wade the Second to lead the nation's largest National Guard force is expected early this week. The appointment comes as the Guard faces state and federal investigations over whether its previous leader set up a unit to spy on citizens, among other potential accounting and operational improprieties.
