Officials Consider Closure Of El Dorado County Recreation Areas

Undated -- The heavy snowpack in the Sierra Nevada has officials considering the closure of certain recreation areas and campsites in El Dorado County.

The sheriff's department says it may have to limit access to parts of the Crystal Basin Recreation Area this weekend.

Officials say the Loon Lake Reservoir spillway area and the Rubicon Trail will be under about 16 inches of water.

Other areas that may have to be closed are Ice House Road at Loon Lake's second dam and The Ellis Creek Trail at Wentworth Springs Road.
